International Mountain Day

HERE'S my wee contribution to International Mountain Day.

Although my roots are tied firmly to the mountains and hills of Scotland I have a deep and abiding love for Nepal, her people and her mountains.

This is a photo taken on the Cho La, high above the Khumbu, on an Everest Base Camp trek I led a number of years ago.

It was a rather special day. The day before had been miserable in mist and snow but morning brought sunshine and warmth, and incredible views. It was one of those moments when you just didn't want to be anywhere else.
